What a bargain! The Mesa Verde restaurant at the Denver airport served a grilled chicken dinner that was very enjoyable. The only problem was the price.
You see I flew from Houston with a stop in Denver on my way to Nebraska. With an hour an a half between flights, myself and two associates decided dinner would be in order.
I picked up the $100 tab and we walked the short distance to our departure gate where things went horribly wrong.
The gate agent informed us that I was bumped from the flight due to weight and balance issues (with the plane, not me). Since the only other flight on the following day would have be arriving at my destination with only about an hour before I would have to return, the all day meeting we planned was not going to happen.
We took the next flight to Houston, and returned some 12 hours after our departure.
Dinner for three: $100.00.
Round trip airfare for an hour and a half in Denver: $540.80
Cab fare to and from the airport: $120.00
Hotel guarantees (no show): $70.00
Voila! A $830.80 chicken dinner!
Per person.
Delicious.
