The Hi-Point Comp 9
A Range Day Review.
Our friends at MKS Supply were gracious enough to donate a pistol to the Gunblogger Rendezvous raffle in support of Project Valot IT and your host at Traction Control was lucky to win.
Here is a picture:
The C9 requires no holster – it carries well in large pockets, muzzle down and safety engaged. I carried this pistol with 8 rounds in the magazine + one in the chamber for several days. Compared to a .45 in a holster, the C9 was a Very comfortable carry piece.
Today I had the chance to see how the C9 performed at the range. I was impressed.
Using Winchester Target/Range ammunition, I clicked the safety off and squeezed four double-taps. Result: Eight holes on target at 30 feet.
I reloaded with Winchester’s JHP Personal defense rounds and repeated the test. Same excellent results.
The Ghost-Ring sights were aligned about two inches left and 1 inch low at 10 yards, but that was easily corrected with the adjustment tool that was included with the pistol.
Overall Rating: Very Good. I fired 50 rounds with no failures to feed, no stovepipes, no stuck brass.
Hi-Point’s C9 not only carries well, it performs well.
It’s my new pocket gun.
