I’ts On!
Of course you know “Murphy’s Law”, where if anything can go wrong, it will go wrong – at the worst possible time ….
Well, Mr. Murphy did his best yesterday, but came up short:
Deep in the heart of central Mexico, a Thursday noon-time meeting was rescheduled for Friday at 9:oo AM – just one hour before my 1:00 PM cab was scheduled to arrive for the trip to the airport.
I briefed my team with the materials to present and they were comfortable with picking up my piece of the presentation. I was clear to go!
Well, 1:00 came and went with no cab in sight. More calls were made and at 1:35 PM my ride appeared.
Two and a half hours later – after a trip across the high deserts of central Mexico, with a driver who a) Spoke no English, b) wasn’t familiar with that area of the country, and c) had NO Air Conditioner in his cab, I arrived at the Airport at 4:05 PM.
Plenty of time for a 4:40 PM flight, right?
Wrong.
Two separate full baggage searches, Customs and Immigration Clearance, X-Rays, Scans, and magnetic wanding of my body parts were completed and I was cleared to the boarding area.
The flight actually took off at 4:25 PM. It would have left even earlier, but they were waiting for Moi.
Heh.
I’m looking forward to meeting (and re-meeting) all the cool-kid Gunbloggers at the Lucky Gunner Blogger Shoot which is going to feature Machine guns, a 12-pound Napoleonic Howitzer cannon and Free Ammo!
Woot!
