Curt, at Captain of a Crew of One is hosting this month’s ePostal match called “Reload Drill”.
This is a quick drill. Fire two, reload, fire two more. Repeating five times for a total of ten rounds in each of two targets. My times averaged 6.8 seconds for all five repetitions. (lowest time was 6 seconds; highest time was 8 seconds.)
My carry method is hammer down safety on, with a round the in chamber so that it’s not necessary to use both hands get the first round off. I shot these from low-ready, pulled the hammer back and fired as soon as I got the sight picture, focusing the whole time on the target, not the sights.
Go to Curt’s place, download and print you targets and email your scores and a scan of your targets to Curt by midnight Monday, June 25th.
Thanks to Curt for hosting a challenging match. The timing aspect of this ePostal shoot was a welcome addition, as was the make ready ‘as you carry’ rules. It’s also a useful way to practice.
Side note to A Keyboard and a 45, we’ll have to try and get together for next month’s ePostal match.
