I just sent an early entry to JimmyB who is hosting this month’s match at The Conservative UAW Guy blogsite.
Targets were easy, it was the shooting style that was tough. I won’t mention my scores here, but let’s just say I’m not sure how long they are going to hold up when the other shooters start sending their submissions.
One handed, unsupported fire is tough, but Jimmy adds one-handed, unsupported left-hand fire to the contest.
To quote the figure in the masthead at Bill Whittle’s
‘Eject! Eject! Eject‘: “Dang“.
Today’s trip to the range had some other points of interest, too. As I was shooting, another group was firing as well. We knew they were going to be serious when they set up wooden store-display-style gun racks and began stacking all manner of weaponry.
There was a Browning Model M1919A4 mounted on an M2 tripod, a Thompson M1A1, a Mini Uzi, several M-16 A4s, an AK-47 Paratrooper model, a Sten (I think) Bergman MP 28.11 PPSh-41; all of these and several other stick, drum and belt fed goodies all cranking out continuous bursts of full-auto fire.
Imagine focusing on a competition match target with the equivalent of a Knob Creek machine gun fest at full-roar just a few yards to your left! The “Sound of Freedom” did not bother my concentration in the least!
Overall – a great day at the range.
Thanks again to JimmyB at The Conservative UAW Guy for hosting.
The ePostal targets look small from back here.
Scope it out!
Can you see why I like scopes? See the image above this for the un-magnified view of the targets.
