In the face of this development, the Texas Legislature is apparently backing down.

HB1937 unanimously passed the Texas House on May 13. A week later, the bill passed favorably out of the Senate Transportation and Homeland Security Committee. But a letter delivered to key senators from U.S. Attorney John E. Murphy on Tuesday stopped the bill dead in its tracks.
Murphy threatened to turn Texas into a no-fly zone should the bill become law. – quoting Way Up North

I would argue that, “Bring.It.On” would be a better response.

Shutting Texas connections out of the air travel system would immediately show the Nation the true cost of the TSA’s over-reach as a government entity.

If a State is prohibited from preventing the groping someone’s sexual organs without probable cause, the right to refuse must then accrue to the individual Citizen.  If the State cannot protect the individual, why should the individual sanction the authority of a State?

Texas should stand tall and reject this intimidation.

Full Disclosure: My 2nd full-body opt-out feel-up by the TSA occurred last Sunday, May 22. He was very gentle, almost sensual, and very creepy.

Still no word on the actual radiation levels emitted from these devices by independent tests.

I will continue to ‘opt out’ as long as ‘opt out’ is an option.

After that? I ain’t going to say.

Update:

SteveF adds this in a DailyPundit post:

“I hope the Texas legislature doesn’t back down. I hope TSA doesn’t back down. I hope Texas arrests every federal employee within its borders on grounds of belonging to a criminal organization.”
