Threads. The ridges and grooves that allow Part A to be attached to Part B are some handy things, unless they don’t match. Then the handiness of threads is much degraded.
Enter the thread adapter, conversion kits of sorts for threads.
My new best friend of thread adapters is Mark at TROSUSA.COM.
I contacted Mark, on a recommendation from GemTech, the maker of suppressors for rimfire and centerfire pistols, centerfire rifles, and submachine guns.
With a brief phone call, Mark provided two adapters that allow my Uzi Suppressor (M26x1.5 thread) to run on the Blackwater Sig Sauer P226 in 9mm (M13.5×1 LH) and the Sig Sauer P226 .22 conversion (M9x.75). The .22 thread is the same one that is used on the Sig Sauer Mosquito models.
The Tech folks at GemTech advised that the P226 may have to be cycled manually with 9mm (the sub-gun suppressor being too heavy) and they were right. But oddly enough, it runs fine with .22LR.
Note: No neighbors were alarmed during testing. Heh.

Mark had to order special dies to cut the M9x.75 threads, so I’m sure he would appreciate some more order volume from Sig’s .22LR Conversion Kit and Sig Mosquito owners.
Give ’em a shout – they do good work.
