Day 2:

Muffler replaced; complete brake system rebuild (new drums, shoes, springs, hoses); new tires and wheels, oil and filter change.

Added Cost: $2,374.36

Day 3:

Wiper Motor replaced; seat cover installed; Air Cleaner replaced; cracked base plate found on carburetor (dang).

Parts ordered: Lowering coil springs (Front by 4″, Rear by 6″); door mirrors; vent window assemblies; rear mounted fuel tank & related parts (cab-mounted gas tank was leaking and fumes were nasty); grill trim & molding; front bumper; dash panel, switches and knobs; carburetor

Added Cost: $2,271.33

Complication: No power to new wiper motor – checking wires, connectors and waiting for replacement switch on order.

Body Shop recommended replacements:

• Right front fender and door skin
• Bedside panels: Left, Right, Front
• Rear wheel housings
• Tailgate
• Hood

Note to patina aficionados: The hood replacement presents a rare opportunity for you to own an uniquely weathered, Texas sun-baked piece of patina-goodness. Fits 1967 – 1972 Chevy C-10 pickup:
