I’m all for saving money – if it doesn’t put you life in danger.

Here’s a case in point:

Moving from a $140 hotel to a $54 hotel saves money.  Is the trade-off worth it?

We saved $86 per day by moving from this:

To this:

The rooms went from this:

To this:

But, the deal breaker for me was this:

In Spanish-talk the notice in the window says, “Water not purified for drinking.”
This is Not.A.Good.Sign.

So sure, you could save $515 on a six day trip.

If the trip involves health danger, what memories of your family’s trip would you prefer they cherished the most? The luxurious atmosphere and historical culture of a city – or just surviving the throes of dysentery.

No amount of cost savings can justify exposure to life-threatening hazards.

Spend smart. Save wisely. Travel Safe.
