The Ruger SR-556 features:
- 6-Position Telescoping m4-Style Buttstock housing a Mil-Spec buffer and spring
- Hogue Monogrip Pistol Grip
- Chrome-Plated Bolt, Bolt Carrier and Extractor
- Troy Industries Folding BattleSites that co-witnesses with Mil-Spec optics
- Troy Industries Quad Rail Handguard providing four Mil-Std 1913 Picatinny rails for accessories, including the M203 Grenade launcher
- Troy Industries Rail Covers
- MAGPUL PMAG 30-Round Magazines with stainless steel springs for corrosion resistance and an anti-tilt, self lubricating follower.
- Cold-Hammer-Forged, Chrome-lined Mil-Spec 41V45 Barrel
- Chrome-Plated, Two-Stage Piston Driven Operating System. All of the by-products od the gas system are vented out the bottom of the gas block, away from the bolt carrier, keeping the action clean and free from contaminants.
- 4-position Chrome-Plated Gas Regulator – adjustable for optimum reliability and superior operating endurance. The gas system may me closed completely for manual operation during training or when using a suppressor.
