For Ammo Day, the Ruger Mark I, freshly out of the smithy’s with a new disconnector, sear, matte black finish and a crown job.
Sweet.
The Ruger Mark 1 – purchased new in 1975 had some broken parts and some wear on the finish. It was just not right to have a non-functioning pistol on the premisis. So, some $$’s later, the Ruger Mark I rejoins the arsenal!
Welcome back!
Hint, finding a disconnector for this pistol is impossible. They are no longer produced and the factory carries no spares.
From: DB at Numrich’s Ruger Forum, I learned:
“It is possible to fit a disconnector from the AMT Lightning pistol to work in the Ruger MKI. We recommend installation by a qualified gunsmith.
A valuable piece of information plus a $5.60 part are credited with getting the Mark I is back in business. Thanks Numrich!
