It’s been about 4 1/2 years since I created the People of the Gun web site. It was in response to a magazine article critical of gun rights, and it mentioned Alphecca by name. At first, a rush of “applicants” joined in but — and this is my fault — interest waned. I allowed the site to languish through my own inaction. Heck, I last updated the site almost a year ago. People of the Gun deserves better and I’m happy to say that now it will again become a vibrant Tribe with a new sponsor and host, Ammo.net.

Ammo.net sells — you’ll be shocked to learn — ammunition for almost any firearm you own. They do it at great prices and they donate a percentage of every purchase to pro-military and pro-Second Amendment charities and organizations.

They’ve redesigned the web site with a nice, clean look and now you can upload your photo and info yourself — directly to the site. No more waiting months for me to get around to it.

The theme is what it always was: A tribe of firearm owners and bloggers; just ordinary Americans, many of them your friends and neighbors. We believe in and practice the constitutional and natural right to protect our families, ourselves, and our homes.

This is a win-win situation for all of us. People of the Gun comes to life again. The Tribe is reborn.

Best, I especially hope that Laura Washington, the author of the anti-gun screed that started it all, will visit the site again (she was well aware of the PotG site her writings spawned) and notice all the ammo for sale on the side-bar. That should drive her absolutely nuts!

Incidentally, there’s a nifty new logo that you bloggers can capture for a link to People of the Gun.

Long live the Tribe! Join the Tribe!
