Does the Republican Party have any barriers for entry?
Any qualifying traits? Defining characteristics? A questionnaire? A minimum standard? A smell test? A hurdle? A speed bump? A firewall? A qualification?
Geraldo Rivera is “contemplating running for Senate” – As a Republican!
So … that’s OK? Nope. There’s your problem right there. Letting anyone into the party who doesn’t carry the shield sets the party up for implosion and failure. Allowing candidates to self-declare their party without qualification is a quick recipe for infiltration and certain destruction.

If this is allowed, the destruction of the Republican Party is surely complete.
“It’s good she’s in D.C. and I’m in New York,” Rivera sneers. “I’d spit on her if I saw her.”
Not very Republican-esque, if you ask me.
