Headlights: Before and After

With one 3M Headlight Restoration Kit, a bit of tape, a few paper towels, a couple of glasses of water and about an hour and a half you can make your old headlights shiny again.

The Kit:

It’s not fancy, just a foam pad with a Hookitâ„¢ attachment and some sanding disks. $19.

Started sanding with P500 (500 grit), then changed to P800, then to P1000 and ending with P3000.

(I did not use the Rubbing Compound also provided with the kit).

A light coat of Minwax Polyurethane finished the job.

I’ve done two cars with one kit. Easy peasy!

Actually, I am amazed that such a simple solution produced such dramatic results. I look at the before and after pictures and the improvement is awesome!
