Traction Control had the opportunity to review the KO-TONICS KT68 Combat Edition 6.8 SPC AR-15 Upper at the Gunblogger Rendezvous, including some range firing.
In a word: impressive!
The KT68 performed flawlessly, putting rounds after round on steel at 300, 400 and even 500 yards – all from a 16″ barrel!
The 6.8 SPC rounds are like a short .270 and pack a solid punch. They make a distinctive “pong” sound compared to the “pop” of a AR-15 in .223.
With a four rail fore-end, A2-style flash suppressor, flip-up sights, the appearance was amazing – quoted from SayUncle: “This thing is a piece of sex.”
Thanks KO-TONICS (http://www.ko-tonics.com) for providing this item and the Silver State Armory (http://www.ssarmory.com) for 400 rounds of ammo used in the GBR-II review!
Regrettably, Traction Control lost the bidding to acquire the upper at the GBR-II dinner on Saturday.
