Mr. Completely (Missed her, completely?) hosted a Blog-based shooting competition which ended today. Number 5 in a series; I think there is one every month. This month the target was called “Seein’ Stars”, and star shapes are a wickedly difficult piece of targetry. See his website/blog for results in the next 7 days or so.

There were four classes: short barrel pistol: rimfire and centerfire pistol; long-barrel pistol; and rifle, at distances from 25 to 50 feet.

Here’s what the targets (2 targets: 1 left, 1 right) looked like from 25 feet away. A standard 50-foot rifle target was centered below for warm-up shots.

Seein' Stars

Yikes! You can barely see the spots from here.

I braved the elements – winds gusting from 25 to 35 mph today and scored a 220 (out of a possible 640). Did I mention that stars are tough? Thanks to Mr. Completely for a great idea and a well-run shoot.

Always searching for more opportunities to be humbled, I have a friendly competition planned with Kim du Toit at an indoor range tomorrow!

P.S. to Mr. Completely: Thank you for the blogroll link to this humble site.

Update:

The scores are tallied and evidently my meager score of 220 was enough for 6th place! Yea!! (And yes, there were more than six entries.) Thanks again to the host.
