Acting ATF Director Ken Melson met with congressional investigators Charles Grassley and Darrel Issa on July 4, 2011 accompanied by his personal lawyer instead of waiting for a later date meeting with lawyers from ATF and DOJ.

In a letter DOJ’s Eric Holder, Darrel Issa wrote, “… leadership appears to have been effectively muzzled while the DOJ sent over false denials and buried its head in the sand.”
