Cowboy Fast Draw shooting is performed with real guns and cartridges that are loaded with wax projectiles and shotgun primers – no other propellant. The rounds fired will not even penetrate the canvas material enclosing the shooting area.
I’d never tried it before until today, but now that I have, I have to say, “it’s pretty cool”.
The PA announces, “Shooter on the line … Shooter set!” and then a light appears on the target and it’s time to draw and fire.

(My best draw was 589 milliseconds).
