A lazy breeze stirred the pecan trees lining the river bank this afternoon as my boys and I hosted three honored guests to an afternoon of conversation and cordite.
Many a round was fired across the wide river as the sun filtered through the trees.
An afternoon plinking driftwood with all manner of armaments added up to a great afternoon of fun. And yes, the conversation was excellent.
Taking careful aim with his Henry .22 Lever Action rifle, Aaron hits the smallest spinner target.
Ryan prepares for a careful shot from the prone position.
The Masters prepare to fire.
Sighting in with a BMG 50 round on the target 450 yards away.
Table o’ Toys –
Pictured amid the expnded brass casings are (left to right) a Norinco AK-47 (pre-ban), a suppressed Vector Arms Mini-Uzi (full-auto), and an M2 tripod mounted M1919-A4 in 308 Winchester.
Add it all up to an afternoon of noise, excitement and above all: safety.
To quote my guest at the height of all the gunfire shattering the peaceful din of the day,
“It sounds like Freedom.”
Yes it does, my friend. Amen.
