The good people at Simon & Schuster were kind to send me a pre-release book from one of my favorite authors: Stephen Hunter.

Sniper’s Honor is set for release on May 20, 2014 and features Bob Lee Swagger in a something of an investigative journey into the past to uncover the story behind a Russian sniper known as the “Die weisse Hexe” – The White Witch.

The story reads a lot like Hunter’s The Third Bullet, where Bob Lee Swagger – assisting a journalist, uncovers historical clues and lends his expertise as a sniper to recreate the story behind Mili Petrova, a sniper whose existence was seemingly erased from both German and Russian history following World War II.

Sniper’s Honor, like all the books by Stephen Hunter, is highly recommended.
