Call of Duty 4 – Modern Warfare is Activision’s photo-realistic war-time shooter. I bought the PC (XP/Vista) version.
In short, prepare to dissolve 8 to 12 hours of your life in this fully engrossing environment.
The game play remains similar to the previous versions where the action is guided along a ‘track’; the player still takes the lead and the other troops follow in support. But the tracks are incredible!
The stage where you are the gunny on the AC-130 gunship is awesome – be sure you toggle the night vision mode so the IR beacons of ‘friendlies’ are visible. The graphics on this stage are like the FLIR camera vids from the real gunships.
One beef: The .223 M4 rifles don’t kick so much, and are not LOUD like the M1 Garands of yore. Dang.
