    According to the end of the story, Spain just paid out $3.3M to ransom a captured crew.

    Soooo. . . which would YOU rather do? Pay maybe a few $100K in wages (etc) annually to have an armed protective service on your ship, or pay over 3 mil PER SHIP, EACH AND EVERY time it’s captured?

    I know MY choice.
