There were no armed police officers at Glasgow Airport when the terminal building was attacked last Saturday, BBC Scotland has learned.
Armed police were on duty at most other major British airports at the time.
The two men arrested at the airport were tackled by an unarmed officer, an off-duty policeman who was passing by and members of the public.
A force spokeswoman said armed officers were only deployed to the airport when the national threat level required it.
The government raised the threat level to “critical” for a short period after the attack.
Do firearms act as a deterrant?
Is the absence of firearms an incentive to terrorists?
Is that the sound of crickets chirping throughout the MSM?

You KNOW that I am big time into guns, but I seriously don’t think guns, or who has them is a consideration to a terrorist bomber on a mission, not in any way…
How do you know that a charging vehicle isn’t a vehicle that’s being driven by someone in serious physical distress, a heart attack or diabetic distress maybe??
If a terrorist bomber has planned well, he won’t be attracting attention to himself, not the attention that would cause folks like us to open fire on him…
Now if he was charging the area and he was on fire, as happened in Glasgow, I believe some of us would consider that to be a threat today, maybe not the 1st time it happened, simply because the shock of seeing it may have frozen some in place momentarily, but now I think folks would react, but, what good would it do??
The guy that was on fire, once he was extinguished, tried to put up a fight, that’s when you have to know, he has to be wired on something…
Guns aren’t going to stop a determined suicide attacker, he’s looking to die anyway, but I think the reason we’ve not seen the suicide attacks here so far is because the terrorists KNOW we’re armed and that the aftermath of their actions won’t be pleasant for their moonbat brethren…
Maybe… Who knows, they’re moonbat terrorists, we’ll never know what makes em tick… No pun intended…
My thought was that the fact that none of the authorities were armed may have provided some sense of safety to the bombers.
Softest targets, hardest hit.
