To the Victor Goes the 33 Bucks

  • This morning, the family and I awoke to some surprising and humbling news. From Iowahawk, we received word that I’d been awarded the Iowahawk Endowment for the Arts.
  • To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been competing by this prize — men and women who’ve inspired me and inspired the entire world through their courageous contribution to blog art.
  • But I also know that throughout history the Iowahawk Endowment for the Arts will not just be used to honor specific achievement; it will also be used as a means to give momentum to increased blog traffic.
  • That is why I’ve said that I will accept this award as a call to action, a call for all artists and all bloggers to confront the common art challenges of the 21st century. These challenges won’t all be met during my time as a blogger, or even my lifetime. But I know these challenges can be met so long as it’s recognized that they will not be met by one person or one blog alone.
  • This award — and the call to action that comes with it — does not belong simply to me or my blog; it belongs to all bloggers and all Iowahawk fans around the world who have fought for artwork and for blog traffic. And most of all, it belongs to you, the men and women of the blogosphere, who have dared to hope and have worked so hard to make our world a little better.
  • So today we humbly recommit to the important work that we’ve begun together. I’m grateful that you’ve stood with me thus far, and I’m honored to continue our vital work in the years to come.
  • Thank you,
  • USCitizen from Traction Control

P.S. to Dave Burge:  Maybe you can sneak the $33.18 back into you kid’s sock drawer.  He might not even notice it was missing. – U.S. Citizen

Racist Pixel was the funniest entry. Brevity is wit. You did it, and you deserve it.

Many thanks. I’m glad you appreciate the sentiment. I was wit, not talent that inspired the picture.

Congratulations, and curse you, US Citizen! Enjoy wallowing in your lucre! Someday we’ll match art skills once again—and then I’ll get even! Someday—

    Cheating! Fraud! Lies!

    I demand a recount!

Stoaty’s “Pity President” was the clear winner!

Just came over after the win and noticed that you’ve got the two things I expect from a high class blog. Pics of guns and scantily clad women. One thing, though. Your font is a mite too small for an old geezer such as moi. Any chance of bumping it up a bit for readability?

    Thanx.

I’m not sure how to do that, but I’ll poke around to see if there is a way.

    Thanks

I am proud to have met you. And I am amazed at how close you come to the actual epicenter of snark, without imploding. My hat is off to you, and your unrepentant amped up snarkitude.
