Glen Futardo of the Winchester Gallery (warning Loud Audio on page) advises that Dick’s Sporting Goods restocks on Tuesdays, Walmart on Wednesdays and Academy on Thursdays.
Bass Pro Shop in Rockwall advised customers to check around 9:00 AM on Monday’s, Wednesdays and Fridays for particular rounds. If you call, they’ll hold a couple (as in two) boxes for you an each caliber.
Here is a sampling of the Bass Pro Shop shelves today:
.38 Special +P (Remington Golden Saber) – three boxes, 25 rounds each
.357 Magnum (Remington Golden Saber) – one box, 25 rounds
.41 Remington Magnum (Remington Express), four boxes 50 rounds each
.45 Colt (Hornady Cowboy) – two boxes, 25 rounds each.
(Note to Bass Pro Shop shoppers: After I checked out, there were only two boxes on .41 Rem Mag left.)
I could have carried ALL the pistol caliber ammo out in one plastic bag. Rifle ammo was way more plentiful.
Other than Wolf brand at Ft Worth’s Cheaper Than Dirt, no .30 Carbine rounds have been found since I bought the last three boxes from Winchester Gallery’s Shooting Range last week.
Serious range time with the new (to me) M1 will have to wait. Sigh.

I need to start reloading .380acp..that stuff is near impossible to find as they converted the equipment to produce the more profitable 9mm
Somehow I didn’t realize you were in Texas. I was just there, visiting family in Forney. Fell in love with it, and thinking about buying some acreage in Rockwall. That’s a great country you live in!
