As a Political issue: "Let’s see who REALLY wants change ."
DON’T ADDRESS THE PROBLEM – ADDRESS THE SOLUTION
I suggest Republicans should oppose financial bailouts and instead rollback the provisions that have made PREDATORY LENDING a sub-rosa requirement in banking regulations. (See Jimmy Carter Era, CRA, etc.).
If the government wants to encourage constructive market behavior , it should issue checks to mortgage holders for accounts that are CURRENT AND/OR PAID IN FULL THIS YEAR (with a BONUS commission to mortgage Bankers FOR THOSE ACCOUNTS ONLY).
Reward the successes of the Market – Don’t subsidize the failures .
Any other reward; for any other behavior, will send the wrong message and could spell the death knell for Capitalism.
I suspect, the unencumbered funds released for reinvestment in GROWTH (as opposed to FAILURE) would be better managed in the hands of those who have proven themselves worthy of that responsibility.

This is possibly the best idea I’ve heard yet in regards to this problem. Reward the competent, penalize the parasites who would ask for handouts they know they don’t deserve. Money is best spent on successes, not failures.
Thanks. Yep, I do like my own ideas!
