WASHINGTON (AP) via Yahoo! News — President Barack Obama is a big football fan with two daughters, but if he had a son, he says he’d “have to think long and hard” before letting him play because of the physical toll the game takes.
Another reason he wouldn’t be playing football is because he’s dead.
You see, Obama’s previous “if I had a son” quote was this:
“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” Obama said, underscoring how the issue affected him on a personal, and not just a political or legal, level. “I think they are right to expect that all of us as Americans are going to take this with the seriousness it deserves, and we are going to get to the bottom of exactly what happened.”
[Backstory: Trayvon Martin assaulted a neighborhood watch member and was shot in self defense.]
So now it’s been 10 months since this statement was made. Has Obama gotten to the bottom of exactly what made this happen? No. I suspect his interest waned when he realized Americans would not be baited into an all-out race war to provide Obama with a pretense to impose Martial Law.
Although he’s stepped it up with his current gun-ban fetish by attempting to go straight for the source of perceived resistance – American gun owners. I believe he once again misunderstands who Americans are.
It’s another ruse; and we will not take the bait. Obama does not understand that the law-abiding, polite society of gun owners will not be goaded into an offensive posture.
Having said that, the Government – no matter who leads it, should be ever cautious about our defensive posture.
Tread carefully.
