The magazine is banded to the handguard.
Looks like you’re right about the suppressor … the magazine is still tough to find.
You know you’re a gun nut when you walk up to a pretty girl and ask to take pictures of her gun.
If you look on the Israeli blogger’s site Doubletapper, you will never see an M-16 carried around with the mag inserted. I’m assuming it is to prevent accidents, and likely a regulation of the IDF.
