Bail set at $1 million.
Zimmerman’s fundraising may have generated enough to cover his $100k deposit, or more.
Self-defense comes with a high price for law-abiding Citizens who exercise their rights to survival. But, without the 2nd Amendment George Zimmerman would likely have no legal defense at all.

Interestingly, when they realized that he had more money than they thought, they demanded that he return for re-hearing.
He did so voluntarily.
Again.
Now, under the rationalization that the man who’s fully cooperated with police and investigators throughout the incident, has voluntarily surrendered himself to the authorities THREE times, and was the person who called the police after the incident occurred in the first place, is somehow a flight risk, they’ve set bail just high enough that the money he’s raised for his defense will cover the bond.
It seems to me that their intention is more to divest him of any funds he has rather than guarantee that he’ll refrain from fleeing.
Which leads me to wonder: Are they simply trying to eliminate the means he has available to mount an effective defense? Competent legal counsel is not inexpensive. Is the goal here to take so much of his money that he can’t afford competent counsel?
It sure looks that way to me. Perhaps we need to kick in a little more to make sure that they fail in that endeavor.
Without the Second Amendment, I would think it likely that Mr. Zimmerman would have no need of a legal defense – if you catch my drift…
