After a couple of years, multiple program installations, several printer configurations and the inadvertent glitches that occur over time, Windows computers seem to reach a point where the Windows operating system can benefit from only one thing:
Nuking the OS.
The laptop reached that stage today after shutting down repeatedly after start-up.
The full nuke method I use also eliminates the Recovery Partitions, OS Partitions, Reserved Partitions, Primary Partitions and any other partitions that get in the way.
After the Windows 7 re-installation, I have had – so far – a total of 112 updates (over 320 Mb of downloads) to get the OS up to the current release standards.
It is truly amazing that after all the updates, patches & revisions a computer can function at all!
