“Co-Witness” was a term I wasn’t familiar with until Say Uncle brought out the 6.8 SPC upper at Gunblogger Rendezvous II. Since then, it’s been added to the list of things that I ‘need’.

“Co-Witness” refers to a the use of both an electronic rifle sight and a backup mechanical sight to: A) confirm the sight alignment, and/or B) to serve as a backup in case of electronic sight failure, low batteries, etc.

A.R.M.S. #40 LPI was so impressed with Say Uncle’s AR sighting setup that I asked him about the specific model number (it’s an EOTech Model 552).

Upon acquiring one of these marvelous gadgets, I set about to find the backup, co-witnessing sighting system.  There were several choices, but I went with the A.R.M.S #40 Low Profile flip-up sight.

The sight picture on the AR now shows a glowing red dot positioned at the peak of the front post and the rear aperature perfectly frames the EOTech’s circle outlining the dot.

Sweet.

Thanks to Say Uncle for the tip!
