The Blog Station (Vista SP1 test, take 1) woke up dead this morning – caught in the dreaded perpetual boot, then pause, then flash of blue, then boot again loop.
Running the lastest build from Diskeeper (770) in a Boot-time defragmentation mode evidently makes Vista SP1 vewy, vewy angwy … or at least angry enough to hide it’s boot record.
With Drive C gone, I unplugged the C drive, reinstalled Vista on drive D, rebooted and reconnected the drive. D is now C; and C became D. Even though it wouldn’t boot, the files were all intact and I was able to move everything to the new and faster C Drive.
Vista – because why would anyone want to go outside and enjoy a beautiful Spring day anyway?

WTH are you doing using Vista?
When I bought my laptop, it came with XP and a Vista “upgrade”. I thought, “What the hell? why not try it out on the blog station?”
