$110 Billion for reconstruction? What, do I look guilty or something? Why am I being asked to pony-up that kinda’ dough because God made weather? No one asked for a vote, but mine is: Let it sink. Clear the house-tops (and buses) that now mar the brand new lake-front views. Let the water crest to [...]

Flight to Chicago is delayed for an hour due to weather. But so far, so good. No problems with security, no line, no waits. I even had time for dinner in the restaurant. This trip will be perhaps the first of four; other destinations are likely to include Baltimore, and perhaps the West Coast. Flying [...]

From Ace – Former Democratic Party Official Says Centanni And Wiig “Had It Coming”

Good grief and WTF?? My reaction … Let me be the first – on Ace’s thread anyway, to question the Patriotism of the American Democratic party AS A WHOLE (now that Joe Lieberman and Zell Miller are out). With a quote like that, I would also question their humanism. I pray that Steve Centanni And [...]

The Flight 93 Memorial: Share Your Thoughts

… at the Flight 93 Memorial. The link is up. My thoughts shared … I must respectfully disagree with your choice of designs. There are too many features in the Memorial’s plans that honor Islam; too few that honor the citizens who died on that horrific day. May I suggest a solitary cross and a [...]

As the 2006 election cycle draws near, it seems appropriate to remember this article (linked from Dillon Precision) by Peter Caroline: If you don’t vote like a gun owner, YOU SUCK! By Peter Caroline According to most estimates, there are between 75 and 80 million adult gun owners in the United States. That’s more people [...]

I just sent an early entry to JimmyB who is hosting this month’s match at The Conservative UAW Guy blogsite. Targets were easy, it was the shooting style that was tough. I won’t mention my scores here, but let’s just say I’m not sure how long they are going to hold up when the other [...]

On an administative note, I’ve been working with Office 2007 Beta 2, including Outlook. Outlook 2007 now allows RSS Channels to be defined Outlook as “Accounts.”
A cool idea, but the implementation of RSS in Outlook is very rudimentary. I’m sticking with FeedDemon as my RSS aggregator.
What I found very interesting was …

Every shooter knows the sound. The clang of a well-aimed shot on steel. The sound is the same, but it’s an entirely different experience when it’s not a bullet, but a golf ball you are firing downrange! At the 18th tee of a 372 yard par four I chose the MacGregor VIP Titanium driver and [...]

In 1966 Hertz teamed up with the legendary Carroll Shelby to launch the Rent-A-Racer program. I recall the 1966 Hertz Shelby’s were black with gold stripes; had a GT350-H rocker panel stripe; Hertz plates behind the front wheel wells; and an italicized ‘H’ on the wheel centers. I remember thinking, “Oh, to have had the [...]
