Some states explicitly forbid individuals from carrying on campuses. It is legal in some states, but the campuses have policies in place that will suspend or expel a student for legally carrying on campus. Penn State is like this, and I've considered the risk to be too great at this point to carry on campus. I have a license to carry and do so all the time in public except when I'm on campus. We need legislation like this to prevent the college from being able to expel law abiding citizens. There has been one nearly violent instance while I was on campus where I wish I had ignored the policy in case the situation had escalated any further. There's a Georgia bill to keep a watchful eye on.
